About Us

Our Story

Trainspotting Tours started the way all good things do — with a shared obsession.

Two years ago, a trip to London Euston with my son turned into something neither of us expected. We went to catch one specific train. We stayed for four hours. We came back the next day. And the day after that.

Since then, we've spent every school holiday on London's platforms — learning the timetables, chasing rare locomotives, filming high-speed passes, and discovering that the real magic isn't just in the trains. It's in the anticipation. The sound of a horn echoing down the track. The rumble you feel through the platform before the train even appears. The thrill when something unexpected shows up.

We started Trainspotting Tours because we wanted to share that feeling with other families. Not everyone knows where to stand, when to be there, or which stations deliver the best action. We do. And we'd love to show you.

Why Trainspotting?

You might think trainspotting is just standing on a platform writing down numbers. It's not.

Modern trainspotting is about the experience — the raw power of a Class 66 freight locomotive thundering through a station at full speed, the sleek beauty of a Eurostar gliding into St Pancras, the surprise of a heritage locomotive on a railtour passing through an otherwise ordinary station.

It's active, it's exciting, and it's surprisingly social. Our tours are designed so that everyone — from the child who's never seen a real train up close to the parent who used to spot as a kid — has an unforgettable time.
